About Advocacy First
Each year, Advocacy First help people from all walks of life. Our service is free and confidential. We provide confidential advocacy for patients in hospital, empowering them to leave hospital to a location and way living of their choice. We bridge the gaps in service for patients and work together with other organisations in the area.
We listen to clients issues and work for them.
We work in partnership with other organisations where appropriate and beneficial. Sometimes we may have to make referrals to other organisations when advocacy is not the answer to a problem.

We are always grateful for sponsorships. Whilst some of our sponsors give money, others give time and equipment. All sponsors will have their name published in our literature as a matter of course.

Our Aim
Advocacy First has been running since 1998. Our main aim is to ensure individuals being discharged from hospital are listened to, and their views acted upon.
Working with Social Services and many other charities and organisations our specialist advocates will assist to reduce patient stress and help instil confidence by ensuring that plans are in place for future accommodation. We serve residents of London Borough of Bromley, and non-residents that are patients of hospitals in Bromley
Volunteer Today
As the organisation expands, and funding for more activities become available, we need volunteers to work with our Advocates and Trustees.
Advocacy First is constantly on the look-out for suitable new volunteers to join the existing team.
If you are a good communicator, with plenty of life experience and the ability to empathise with vulnerable people, we would be delighted. We would be happy to hear from you.
As the volunteer hours can be very flexible, it can fit around your availability and life-style.
